Hässelby Blommor and Naava Start a Partnership in Sweden

With last week's shipment of our first Naava green walls over to Sweden, we started a cooperation with our new partner, Hässelby Blommor.

The Swedish company will now be taking on some of the service and reselling of Naava's (formerly known as NaturVention) green walls on the Swedish market.

Hässelby Blommor is a family owned company with a history that goes back as far as four generations. The company is based in Järfälla and currently employs about 40 employees and is today the only company in Sweden that is able to offer in-house solutions for virtually all needs regarding plant, tree and floral decorations a company may have.

The company is dedicated to business customers and is a leading provider of interior landscaping to offices and public places, but also delivers floral decorations for big events such as trade shows and other corporate events.

The company is also the largest in terms of seasonal rental when it comes to trees, plants and floral arrangements to hotels, restaurants and other outdoor environments.

"Poor indoor air quality has demonstrably a major impact on a person’s health and work performance."

"Poor indoor air quality has demonstrably a major impact on a person’s health and work performance. Historically there hasn’t been a solution to this problem and it has therefore been overlooked," explained Erik Utas, CEO of Hässelby Blommor.

"If a company manages to improve the quality of indoor air at the workplace, it can have a huge effect on the employees’ wellbeing and performance. This is a product with a uniquely strong business case, both for businesses and for example schools," said Utas.

The secret behind the Naava plant wall is an active hydroponics base, based on NASA’s discoveries in the 70s with biotransformation processes similar to those used in wastewater treatment facilities to clean contaminated water with the help of microbes.

"If a company manages to improve the quality of indoor air at the workplace, it can have a huge effect on the employees’ wellbeing and performance."

"To simplify it, you could say that the Naava walls have a silent ventilation system built into it, which allows the air flow to become greater. That, with the fact that the plants are grown without soil in an inorganic growth medium by a turbophonic method, makes the purification process incredibly effective," explained Erik Utas.

The Naava walls are both sold and rented as separate furniture, but can also be custom-built to suit a larger wall with specific measurements.

Naava maximizes the plants' air purifying effect

NaturVention Ltd is the company behind the active green wall Naava®. Using technology originally discovered by NASA, 63 plants can get the same air purifying effect as over 8000 plants. It is a minor revolution that literally blurs the boundaries between high technology and nature.

The fact that plants clean the air is nothing new, but with the help of modern technology inspired by NASA's research, the Finnish developers have succeeded in increasing the plants' air purification ability by over 129 times.

This means that a small green wall with 69 plants now has the same air purifying effect as over 8000 plants. In other words, it is now possible to create an indoor environment that we normally can only enjoy outside in the nature.
