“We wanted to increase interaction among colleagues throughout the day.” - Salla Nyqvist, HR Business Partner, SEB

Starting point

Interior architects Gullstén & Inkinen renewed SEB’s premises to cater to the needs of the work community together with SEB’s staff. Upon their move to the new office space, SEB wanted to create a workplace worth coming into instead of working from home. The new heart of the workplace was created into the entrance floor, where you can stop and have breakfast with your colleagues or customers. In terms of space, a cafeteria takes up a fair bit of room at a workplace, but is only in active use for a fraction of the day. Naavas were brought in to maximize the use of the space.

Solution

The use of the cafeteria space was improved with smart design. The space was divided into sections so that it could be utilized outside lunch hour for meetings as well.

“Naavas work well as room dividers as we can use both sides of them. Having Naava, a beautiful room divider purifying air, is a real asset,” explains Jari Kinnunen from Gullstén&Inkinen.

“Even though I meet people all the time in my job, I would say that you now have double the amount of conversations here than you used to,” SEB’s HR Business Partner Salla Nyqvist described the change.
