The Office of the Future - Breathing Fresh Forest Air

What does the future of working life look like?

Films, literature and our own imaginations have always painted pictures of possible scenarios. Who knew that some of the most unlikely of these would be coming true?

‘The Simpsons’ predicted that Trump would become President; they used movie tablets in ‘A Space Odyssey’; the hoverboards from ‘Back to the Future’ are now a reality. Maybe somethings are easier to predict than others?

How do you want your future working life to look?

Future 2030 is a project which is working to predict the working life of the future. It is part of the Finnish governments’ future report, which is focused on finding new paths for development. According to this project, well-being at work will become a key priority for companies and employees in the future.

Today's pioneers believe in well-being - Vincit has created a 'well-being' office for healthy employees

Some companies are already living and breathing the future. One of these pioneers is Vincit, a Finnish software company, who has been named as the best place to work in Finland and Europe (‘Great place to work’ 2015).

In creating modern, future-focused offices, they have prioritized a connection to nature, introducing green elements, and paying attention to the acoustics and aesthetic of the space, as well as ensuring the provision of high quality natural air. They have provided a sleeping room for employees who need a nap, and a ping pong table to energize staff!

Vincit - a great place to work

CEO Mikko Kuitunen explained the rationale for investing in the well-being of his staff: "Success lies with the people. To attract and retain the most talented people we have to offer them the best possible environment to work in."

"Success lies with the people. To attract and retain the most talented people we have to offer them the best possible environment to work in."

From his own experience he would wholeheartedly recommend the installation of Naava green walls to provide fresh, pure air for offices, and to improve the physical and mental well-being of employees.

Next Games look to the future by creating a healthier office

Vincit isn't the only company looking to the future in the development of a healthier work environment. Finnish game company Next Games are investing in the well-being of employees, having realized the positive effect it can have on employee performance. Next Games want to offer gaming industry professionals an inspiring environment, combining beauty, entertainment, fresh air and nature.

Next Games invested in Naava green walls to create the best possible environment

"We want to be the best possible place to work; a place where people can enjoy spending time in. We constantly try to find new ways to increase efficiency and staff satisfaction," said HR manager Anna Feodorow. Naava is an important part of this story. "Naava is a modern solution. It is visually soothing and pleasing, while it works intelligently to provide clean, pure, healthy air."

The company supplies its employees with natural air, flexible working hours, subsidized gym memberships and healthy refreshments. All aimed to increase and sustain the energy and productivity of employees. Sounds like the office of the future doesn't it?

Svea Ekonomi invests in team spirit and fresh air

Along with Vincit and Next games, our customer Svea Ekonomi is a shining example of a workplace of the future, today. The investments they are making today are creating return on investment for the future. Professionals in funding, debt collection, and finance work in a high quality environment that boosts their day to day performance.

Svea decided to place Naavas into meeting rooms where both employees and customers would benefit

"For us it is vital to invest in our premises. It improves the well-being of the staff in both the short and long term. Our team spirit has improved and productivity is higher when the work environment is enhanced," said Jukka Rytkönen,  head of finance at Svea Ekonomi Finland.

The benefits brought by the installation of Naava green walls are obvious in the offices of Svea Ekonomi. "Before installing Naava in our meeting room we had problems with poor air quality during longer meetings. The room became unpleasant to be in after only an hour or so. With Naava the situation is completely different. The air stays fresh now through the whole of the meeting!" said Rytkönen.

How would your dream office look in the future? Would you like to work somewhere where you breathe fresh forest air, a place which improves your health, well-being and performance? This is all possible, now and in the future, for everyone, everywhere. At Naava we are delighted to be a part of creating healthier, happier workplaces.
