Finance Finland views the workplace as a strategic whole designed to support expert work, focus, interaction, and well-being. Work has permanently shifted to a hybrid model, placing new demands on office environments. For this reason, the organization also wanted to consciously develop the role of the office so that it would offer added value compared to remote work. 

A cost-effective upgrade with green solutions 

Finance Finland decided to carry out a workspace renovation aimed at updating both the appearance and functionality of the premises to better meet current needs.

Naava’s air-purifying green walls had already been part of the open-plan office for several years. Simply rearranging them made the plant walls more prominent, and as a new addition, several moss panels and indoor plants were introduced across different spaces—the kitchen, open office, and small meeting rooms—to bring calmness, greenery, and a cohesive look.

A particularly striking and meaningful solution was a custom moss panel featuring Finance Finland’s logo, installed in the expanded kitchen area. It serves as a natural focal point and symbolizes the core of the entire transformation.

Naava’s solutions enabled a fast and cost-effective update of the workspace.

Employee needs at the core of the redesign 

The project was based on feedback and wishes from the people using the space. Employees were involved from an early stage in the workplace development project. The interior designer’s proposals were reviewed within the project team, and both material choices and plant selections were made collaboratively.

 "Our vision was to create a versatile, comfortable, and calming environment. Employee needs were listened to from the very beginning: the workplace should support different ways of working while keeping community and interaction at its core." 

One of the most important themes raised in feedback was the need to improve quiet workspaces. An existing space was enhanced with, among other things, striking plant installations that create a sense of privacy. The quiet room became one of the most significant improvements, attracting new users and giving new life to a previously underutilized space.

In offices designed for both on-site and hybrid work, emphasis is placed on solutions that support encounters, collaboration, and situations where physical presence adds value. To achieve this, comfort, well-being, and multi-functionality are key—and Naava’s solutions played a significant role in this.

Visualizations supporting the overall design 

Designing and implementing spaces aligned with Finance Finland’s vision required partners who understand the demands of modern knowledge work and can see the space as a whole. It was also important that partners could confidently guide and recommend what should and should not be done.

The visualizations created by Naava’s interior architect specializing in green design helped bring the final concept to life.

This combination worked seamlessly: spatial design created a functional framework, while Naava’s greenery provided the finishing touch and atmosphere. The result is a highly successful and cohesive space where greenery, especially moss panels, plays a central role.

A successful outcome 

Finance Finland’s employees shared feedback on the renovation through an internal survey. The result is described as successful, clearly improving comfort and supporting everyday work. The office is now a more pleasant place to come to work.

Feedback particularly highlighted the importance of comfort, as well as improvements in functionality. Employees felt their input was genuinely taken into account. The tangible investment in employee well-being is also believed to positively impact the employer brand.
